LAUREN MADS

Specialising in Pre & Postnatal Training

My Story

I began my fitness career as a level 3 qualified Pilates instructor, taking classes both virtually and in person. Outside of work I had always enjoyed working out in the form of strength training and generally keeping active, so when falling pregnant with my first child, I found it completely overwhelming with all the do's and don'ts of training throughout pregnancy. There were so many grey areas and conflicting advice on social media, but mentally and for my body I wanted to continue training, so I decided to qualify in Pre and Postnatal safe exercise. I managed to workout up to 41 weeks pregnant and whole heartedly believe keeping active helped me throughout labour and post baby. When my little girl arrived, I was able to use my knowledge learnt throughout my pregnancy, to get back into my fitness routine in a safe way but with realistic expectations. Training post baby was probably the most humbling experience for me personally, not only are we managing hormones, a new baby, a new body and adjusting to motherhood but trying to rebuild strength again after the body has gone through so much.

I began personal training Mums and Mums to be, both in person and virtually and continued to launch Mum and Baby Classes.

2 years on and I fell pregnant with baby number 2! And what a different experience it is... Never underestimate running around after another little one with a growing bump! Pregnancy number 2 has been more challenging, suffering with aches, pains and sciatica but on the whole I have been lucky with few symptoms, I have managed to modify and continue training.

And so with all of this in mind I thought it would be great to share my knowledge and if I can, help other women that may be feeling worried, anxious or overwhelmed by keeping active during and post baby.

My aim is to help mums and mums to be, to maintain and build on their their fitness whilst feeling confident in their training in a way that works for them and their baby. Through personally being there myself, mentally and physically exercise has helped me in so many ways and I want to share that. However you do it, be it in the comfort of your own home, in a group of like-minded mums or 1:1 personal training, I am here to support you.

SERVICES

What Clients Say

I had my second son in September 2022 and I worked with Lauren from the beginning of my post natal journey starting from December onwards and it's been worth every penny. Lauren is incredibly attentive and I have been well looked after. Each session was tailored to my ability at the time and most importantly took into consideration that I had a c-section and was dealing with the effects of an epidural.

Week by week I could see my shape returning, the excess weight was dropping off and I was getting stronger. For example at the start, I couldn't lift my back off the floor, now I can power through ab work. Each week we would do something different and something to challenge/stretch me a bit more. What also made a huge difference was being able to bring my son with me to sessions. Knowing that Lauren was more than happy to give my son a cuddle and the attention needed while I worked out, allowed me to focus.  This type of support made the journey so much easier and before I knew I had my body confidence back.
